Obituary for Betty Lou Kimbrough

Betty Lou Kimbrough, of Durant, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the age of 77. She was born on Thursday, June 8, 1944 in Sunkist, Oklahoma to Roy and Elizabeth (Nicholas) Robinson.

She married Jimmie Kimbrough on January 23, 1960 in Durant, Oklahoma.

She was a longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, being outdoors, taking the bus to eat at the Senior Center and going to the Casino. She always loved going for a ride with her husband. She also enjoyed going to Pigeon Roost Church. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Elizabeth (Nicholas) Robinson; husband Jimmie Kimbrough; sisters Norma Wilson, Cordelia Frazier, Cinderella Robinson; brothers Eli Robinson and wife Carrie and Thurman Wayne Belvin.

Survivors include daughter Sharon Smith and Freddie McDonald of Caddo, Oklahoma; sons James Kimbrough and wife Joy of Durant, Oklahoma, Gerald Kimbrough of Durant, Oklahoma; grandson Jimmie Smith of Calera, Oklahoma; granddaughters Kim Kelley of Durant, Oklahoma, Krystal Bell of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers Roy Robinson, Jr. and wife Vangie, Noel Belvin and wife Della, James Robinson and wife Christy, Raymond Robinson and wife Liz, Skylar Robinson and wife Becky; Lelda Barnoski, Virginia Espinoza and husband Pat; 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandcildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.

A family visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, June 25, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Monterey Chapel at south 9th and Texas St. in Durant, Oklahoma with sister Virginia Espinoza officiating.
