Obituary for Betty Frances Martin
Betty Frances Martin, of Calera, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the age of 82. She was born on Tuesday, January 23, 1940 in Amarillo, Texas to Larry Elwood and Mary Elizabeth (Croson) Sparks.
She married her best friend Dewey Wayne Martin in 1968. They lived in Alaska and her husband worked as an Alaskan airline pilot for 13 years. Together, they traveled the world.
She enjoyed watching sports and was particularly a fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed watching movies, baking, playing cards and dominos, getting her chickens in the coop, getting her hair done every Saturday, going to church and spending time with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Wayne Martin who had passed on May 15, 1991; son Larry Vaughn Martin who had passed on August 8, 1998 and daughter Elizabeth Sue Cochran who had passed on August 8, 2016.
Survivors include her daughters Jesseka Martin and husband Roger of Calera, Oklahoma, Sara Martin and husband Ryan of Calera, Oklahoma; sisters Dorothy Deison and husband Scott of Houston, Texas, Cathy Roberts of Norman, Oklahoma, Denise Cunningham and husband Merle of Anna, Texas as well as numerous cousins and other extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, December 30, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be at 2:30PM at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with Bro. Brent Franks officiating. Ryan Lott, Roger Sampaio, George Allen, Richard Gustauson, Lisa Franks and Brent Franks will serve as pallbearers.
