Obituary for David Arthur Baker

David Arthur Baker of Kingston, Oklahoma went home to be with our heavenly father at 12:20PM on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 64. He was born on Tuesday, June 14, 1959 in Merkle, Texas to Gail Arthur and Martha Darlene (Blackwell) Baker. He came from a large family and had 10 siblings, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

He was a hard worker and he also played hard. He was never afraid of hard work and would have his back to the wall. All he wanted was an “attaboy.”

David loved to help people. It was in his nature to go far and beyond do so. Ollie and Boo were like family to David and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. When Ollie had his surgeries, David would watch after him when he was around. He wanted to make sure he wouldn’t fall and get hurt. As for Boo, everything she said was set in stone. He did his best to please them both. He cared for a lot of folks and had a heart of gold.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors and liked to go to the lake. He wouldn’t go to the lake to fish, but to look for arrowheads. Sometimes he would get lucky with his search.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Jerry, Martha, Linda, and Robert.

Survivors include his siblings Mary Grober of Duncan, Oklahoma, Danny Baker of Kingston, Oklahoma, Gail “Bug” Arthur Baker, Jr. of Amarillo, Texas, Tommy Baker of Kingston, Oklahoma, Betty Christy, Freddy Baker of Clayton, Oklahoma as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
