Obituary for Dorothy Mae Wood
Dorothy Wood of Caney, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the age of 85. She was born on Tuesday, May 3, 1938 in Caney, Oklahoma to Thomas Arnold and Sallie Elizabeth (Willis) McBride.
She was longtime resident of the Atoka County area. She enjoyed music and loved reading her bible. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a courageous woman and her faith and family defined her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Arnold and Sallie Elizabeth (Willis) McBride; brothers Elray McBride, T.A. McBride, Buster Joe McBride and a son Robert Hadley.
Survivors include her sons Ed Wood of Morrilton, Arkansas, Marvin Glenn Hadley of Dubai UAE; daughters Linda Hadley of Malvern, Arkansas, Patti Haley of Lonoke, Arkansas as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Caney Freewill Baptist Church in Caney, Oklahoma with Bro. Brett Coby Doyle officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Caney Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at 9:30am at the Church. Trey Wood, Dennis Courtney, Bruce McBride, Clint Crites, Wes Sanders and Kenny Doisher will serve as pallbearers.
