Obituary for Duane "Bucky" Anteau

Duane “Bucky” Anteau, of Mead, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born on Monday, April 4, 1932 in Lincoln Park, Michigan to Ira William and Marcella Elizabeth (Stadelman) Anteau.

He married Dianne Margaret Sharboneau on October 5, 1957 in Trenton, Michigan.

Bucky and his family moved to Oklahoma in 1981 from Carleton, Michigan. He enjoyed roping, rodeos, horse racing, and the PBR. Duane spent his life as an independent truck driver, horse trainer, and retired from Conway Southern Express. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. Clubs he prided himself in being a part of include the Moose Lodge of Michigan and Michigan Roper’s Association. He was a member of the St. Williams Catholic Church, devoting his life to God and his family whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Marilyn Rieberger and Iris Westphal.

Survivors include wife Dianne Anteau of the home; daughter, Dione (Anteau) Tippawang and husband Ben of Frisco, TX; son, Doug Anteau and wife Suzanne of Bella Vista, AR; son, David Anteau and wife Shelly of Durant, OK; sister, Janet (Anteau) Eichbauer and husband Ron of Allen Park, MI; grandsons Travis Anteau and Maggie McConnell, Bentonville, AR, Ty Tippawang, Frisco, TX, J.D. Anteau, Caddo, OK, Troy Tippawang and wife Hannah and son Samson, Allen, TX, and John Anteau, Caddo, OK; step-grandsons Chad Tomlinson and wife Carol and 3 children, and Justin Williams; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.

A family visitation and rosary will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the St. Williams Catholic Church in Durant, OK with Father Carl Kerkemeyer officiating. Benny Holt, Mark Proctor, John Wilmoth, Henry Spoon and Kendall Long will be honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to The American Cancer Society.
