Obituary for Fred Dunegan

Freddie Joe Dunegan, a life-long resident of Bryan County, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2023, at the age of 66 in Bokchito, Oklahoma. He was born on July 28, 1957 to the late Pete and Jane (Carter) Dunegan in Durant, Oklahoma.

He worked numerous jobs throughout the years, mostly all with John Deere tractors, starting at Williams Implement, then Pettit Machinery, now known as United Ag and Turf.

Fred was a devoted father, pops (grandfather), brother and avid traveler. He enjoyed traveling all over the world and seeing and experiencing new places. Planning adventures with his family was something he loved to do. One of his biggest accomplishments was being a father. Fred had always wanted children and considered himself lucky to have six. His children, Trish, Trina, Brody, Tiara, Trevor and Brittany were his world. He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. The other light of his life was his granddaughter Kenzie. He was so proud seeing her tackle her dreams in aviation.

He is preceded in death by his parents Pete and Jane Dunegan and brother Phillip Dunegan.

Survivors include his children and their families; daughter Trish Singleton and husband Wesley of Bokchito, Oklahoma; granddaughter Mackenzie Singleton of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter Trina Dunegan of Mead, Oklahoma; son Brody Dunegan of Denison, Texas; daughter Tiara Fulk of Ward, Arkansas; son Trevor Fulk and wife Sandi of Tool, Texas, daughter Brittany Redwine and husband Eric of Austin, Texas; sister Betty Williams and husband Howard of Creedmoor, North Carolina; brother John Dunegan and wife Judy of Calera, Oklahoma and brother Danny Dunegan and wife Ladonna of Sherman, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

A family visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00PM on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Gordon Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be at 1:00PM on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Calera First Baptist Church with Bro. Jacob Toews officiating. Brody Dunegan, Trevor Fulk, Britton “Bubba” Weger, Dusty Garrett, Dustin Prater, and Tracey Rapier will serve as pallbearers. Howard Williams, John Dunegan, Danny Dunegan, and Wes Singleton will be honorary pallbearers. He will be laid to rest at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma.
