Obituary for Jackie Ann Owen

Jackie Ann Owen, of Durant, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the age of 81. She was born on Saturday, April 29, 1939 in Sayre, Oklahoma to James Elbert and Azuba Sue (Mahana) Emmons.

She was a longtime resident of Durant. She enjoyed cleaning houses, raising kids, shopping and family dinners. She loved going to church and was a member of the Family Worship Center in Durant. Most of all she dearly loved her family and spending time with them.

She married Harvey Leon Owen on August 29, 1977 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Elbert and Azuba Sue (Mahana) Emmons; husband Harvey Leon Owen; son Billy Wayne Glinn and 2 brothers Ray Daniel Emmons and Boyce Emmons.

Survivors include her son Terry Glinn of Durant, Oklahoma; daughters Melody Stephens and husband Anthony of Durant, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Owen of Durant, Oklahoma; step-son Jimmy Owen and wife Tammy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; step-daughter Renee Skocdopole and husband Lynn of Durant, Oklahoma; brother Jimmy D. Emmons and wife Mary of Tom Bean, Texas; sister Peggy Hogan of Bentley, Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family hour will be held from 7:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the Family Worship Center, 430 W. Tennessee St. in Durant, Oklahoma.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the Family Worship Center with Bro. Adam Cantrell and Aaron McAdams officiating. Colton McClain, Dalton Glinn, Terry Glinn II, Ryan Stephens, Isaac Palmer and Tony Stephens will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul DeVault and Luther Stephens. A committal service will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.

The state of Oklahoma and the CDC has directed that the funeral service be limited to 50 people. We encourage extended friends to show their condolences to the family in a meaningful way other than attendance to allow family members to attend within the guidelines.
