James Owens, of Bokchito, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Sunday, December 8, 2019 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 58. He was born on Sunday, September 25, 1961 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Frank Wendell, Sr. and Liddie Elizabeth (Hider) Owens.

He was a longtime resident of Bokchito, Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, model cars, gardening, auctions, canning, making beef jerky and dogs. Most of all he loved his kids and his family.

He was preceded in death by his father Frank Owens, Sr.; step-dad Don Erskin and son Frank Owens, Jr.

Survivors include sons Waylon Owens and Ashley Lanell of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Shaun Long and wife Trish of Durant, Oklahoma; daughters Casey Henry and husband Devvin of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Crystal Hayes of Cartwright, Oklahoma; brothers David Franklin Owens and wife Dorothy of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Edward Waldrop and wife April of Addis, Louisiana; sister Cindy Brackett and husband Terry of Bennington, Oklahoma; mother Liddie Erskin as well as many grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A family visitation will be held on December 15, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00PM at Gordon Funeral Home.
