Obituary for Linda Lou Bailey (Burden)

Linda Lou (Burden) Bailey, of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the age of 71. She was born on Thursday, August 24, 1950 in Altus, Oklahoma to Watson and Elsie Lenora (Parker) Burden.

She was a longtime resident of Durant and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She enjoyed planting flowers, working in the garden and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved her dog Caesar.

She was preceded in death by her parents Watson and Elsie Lenora (Parker) Burden; brother Billy Burden; sisters Elizabeth Shannon, Diane Gilbert, Cinda Burden and grandson Danny Lee Vandenburg, Jr.

Survivors include her sons Danny Vandenburg and wife Brandy of Durant, Oklahoma, Harold Vandenburg and wife Tammy of Durant, Oklahoma; daughters Tina Hardesty and husband Bill of Woodward, Oklahoma, Tonia Tomson and husband David of Durant, Oklahoma; grandsons Robert Vandenburg of Iraan, Texas; Daniel Vandenburg and wife Natasha of Iraan, Texas, Bobby Atteberry of Colorado, Clayton Vandenburg and wife Britney of Caney, Oklahoma, Kyle Vandenburg of Caddo, Oklahoma, Shayne Hardesty and wife Melina of Woodward, Oklahoma; granddaughters Heather Vandenburg of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Cristen Vandenburg of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mindy Vandenburg of Wade, Oklahoma, Ashley Hardesty of Woodward, Oklahoma, Macayla Hickman and husband Tyler of Durant, Oklahoma; a passel of great-grandchildren; sister Lavon Shannon of Gainesville, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A family visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:00PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Garry McNeill officiating. David Robinson, Kyle Vandenburg, Clayton Vandenburg, Bill Hardesty, David Russell, and Shayne Hardesty will serve as pallbearers. Bobby Atteberry, Robert Vandenburg and Daniel Vandenburg will serve as honorary pallbearers. A graveside service will follow at the Jackson Cemetery at N3950 Rd, Bennington, Oklahoma.
