Obituary for Linda Grace
Linda Loree Grace, age 71, of Durant, Oklahoma passed away, after a brief illness, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Texoma Medical Center with family and friends at her side. She was born on Wednesday, January 11, 1950 in San Angelo, Texas.
She married Michael Grace on July 29, 1978 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Linda received her Masters Degree in Education in 1985 from S.O.S.U, and spent most of her adult life as an educator. She taught High School English, French, and Drama in Caddo, Boswell, and Calera, before retiring in 2006. She loved teaching, interacting with her students, and having get togethers with her colleagues. She enjoyed traveling and seeing the world with her husband, Michael. Some of her favorite things to do were listening to Joni Mitchell and having a glass of wine, or maybe curling up in bed with a good book. She also really loved her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert J. and Doris Loree Klutts, father-in-law Roy Grace, in-laws Jim and Dora Houston, aunt Mozelle Mitchell and uncle Arvil Mitchell, cousin Richard Keith Mitchell, and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survivors include husband Michael Grace of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter Jodie Devereux and granddaughter Chelsea McCoy both of Durant, sister-in-law Judy Grace of Durant; brothers-in-law Donnie Grace of Silo and Gordon Grace of Aledo, Texas. Other survivors include cousins from Snyder, Texas and a large number of adopted cousins and aunts on the Onstott and Grace side of husband Michael’s family.
A visitation and time of remembrance will be held from 4:00-6:00PM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Monterey Chapel, 224 S. 9th St., Durant, Oklahoma.
It is requested that we observe all social distancing and precautionary measures as much as possible for the safely of all who attend the gathering.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity.
