Obituary for Marvin Metts
Marvin Metts, of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the age of 75. He was born on Monday, August 12, 1946 in Wanette, Oklahoma to Garvey Edgar and Maude Gertrude (Mobbs) Metts.
He married Brenda Gail (Martin) Metts on June 22, 1968 in Durant, Oklahoma and was a longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma.
He enjoyed ranching, working as a lineman, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also served in the National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Maurine Lynn and husband Phillip; brother-in-laws Mack Smith and James Richardson.
Survivors include his wife Brenda of the home; son Jeff Metts and wife Stephanie of Durant, Oklahoma; granddaughter Michaela Metts of Midwest City, Oklahoma; grandson Jonathan Metts and wife Noel of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers George Metts of Durant, Oklahoma, Steve Metts and wife Dee Ann of Bokchito, Oklahoma; sisters Maudine Boyd and husband Joe of Balch Springs, Texas, June Smith of Jasper, Texas, Mary Richardson of Durant, Oklahoma, Helen Lange and husband Bill of Sherman, Texas, Joy Metts of Norman, Oklahoma; brother-in-law David Martin of Idabel, Oklahoma as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
