Michael L. Stephens, of Calera, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the age of 71. He was born on Monday, October 29, 1951 in Denison, Texas to Matthew Laverne and Ruby Lee (Wells) Stephens.

He was a longtime resident of Calera, Oklahoma and was a truck driver for many years.

In high school he enjoyed playing basketball. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking, camping and playing horseshoes.

He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Stephens; parents Matthew Laverne and Ruby Lee (Wells) Stephens; sisters Gale and Viola.

Survivors include his daughters Tina Butcher and Joe Staggs of Calera, Oklahoma, Mika Stephens and Clayton Etue of Durant, Oklahoma; brother Monty Stephens; grandchildren Kristina, Paige, Remington, as well as numerous great grandchildren and other extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma with Dr. Kevin O’Brien officiating. Clayton Etue, Joe Staggs, Charles Adams, Marcus Stephens, Michael Cowley and Matt Cowley will serve as pallbearers. Remington Harralson and Lyzac Gerhart will be honorary pallbearers.
