Mike Thompson, of Sherman, Texas, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 72. He was born on Saturday, December 7, 1946 in Ft. Worth, Texas to L.S. and Faye (Danner) Thompson.
He was a retired reinsurance executive and owner of the Durant Insurance Center. He received his MBA from TCU and his BA from Texas Tech. He enjoyed cheering on the TCU Horned Frogs. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He married Carolyn Burns on Wednesday, February 9, 1977 in Ft. Worth, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.S. and Faye Thompson.
Survivors include his spouse Carolyn Thompson of Sherman, Texas; son Robby Thompson and wife Tammie of Pottsboro, Texas; daughters Holly Burkhalter and husband Greg of Calera, Oklahoma, Crystal Mackey of Calera, Oklahoma; granddaughters Alexandra Burkhalter of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Emery Thompson of Pottsboro, Texas; grandsons Hunter Burkhalter of Calera, Oklahoma, Reid Thompson of Pottsboro, Texas, Graison Mackey of Calera, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Tyner Styles of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Cohen Drymon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
