Obituary for Mildred Smith
Mildred Christine Smith, of Armstrong, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the age of 76. She was born on Wednesday, March 31, 1943 in Kenefic, Oklahoma to Henry Marion and Virgie Mae (Childers) Walker.
Mildred was a lifelong resident of Bryan County. She was a member of the Blue River Fellowship Church in Caddo. She enjoyed fishing, camping and yard sales.
She married William Junior Smith on May 14, 1961 in Durant, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Virgie Walker and sisters, Joyce Lorance, Nina Hembree, Ella Tigart; step-father Roy Ingram.
Survivors include her husband William J. Smith of Armstrong, Oklahoma; sons Darrell G. Smith of Armstrong, Oklahoma, Steven L. Smith of Kelleyville, Oklahoma; Daughters Donna Edwards and husband Jim of Caney, Oklahoma, Kathy and husband Tobby of Armstrong, Oklahoma, Paula Rosson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marie Sonntag of Wichita Falls, Texas; adopted daughter Gena Markham of Durant, Oklahoma; special friends Dana Simpson of Durant, Oklahoma, Carolyn Jackson of Caney, Oklahoma, Alyssa Grogan of Coleman, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other extended family.
A family hour will be from 6:00-7:00PM Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Gordon Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Blue River Fellowship Church in Caddo, Oklahoma with Bro. Max Chambers and Bro. David Kautt will officiate.
Dakota Smith, Chris Sanchez, Jason Franks, William Edwards, Isiah Smith, Shawn Kelsay, Jim Edwards and Tobby Blakley will serve as pallbearers.
