Obituary for Pat Laymon
Pat Laymon of Bennington, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the age of 69. She was born on Friday, August 20, 1954 in Borger, Texas to James William and Esta Elizabeth (Claborn) Brookins.
She married Rick Laymon on April 17, 1971 in Wade, Oklahoma. She was a longtime resident of Bennington, Oklahoma.
She enjoyed planting flowers, fishing, board games, cooking for the family, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved Christmas and taking photos. She was the rock of the family and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents James William and Esta Elizabeth (Claborn) Brookins and sister Barbara Ann Brookins.
Survivors include her husband Rick Laymon of the home; sons Trent Laymon of Bennington, Oklahoma, Derrick Laymon and wife Tabathya of Kingston, Oklahoma; sisters Gail Wheeler and husband Cal of Durant, Oklahoma, Jan Doughty and husband Junior of Durant, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Sue Phillips of Durant, Oklahoma; granddaughters Lexie Laymon and Kane of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Laynie Laymon of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Lily Taliaferro of Kingston, Oklahoma; grandsons Jeren Shurbet of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Parker Shurbet of Kingston, Oklahoma; great granddaughter Paisley Jones as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Faith Baptist Church in Bokchito, Oklahoma with Bro. Ryan Perry officiating.
A graveside service will follow at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Cal Wheeler, Jeren Shurbet, Ken Doughty, Keith Doughty, Junior Dill, and Kane Jones will serve as pallbearers.
