Obituary for Ronnie Burns
Ronnie Michael Burns, a lifetime resident and retired businessman in his hometown of Durant, Oklahoma went home to his Lord on May 23, 2022 at the age of 67. He was born on Christmas Day December 25, 1954 to Betty (Burns) Colclazier and Lonnie Burns in Durant.
He enjoyed working in his yard (and his Mother’s) and cookouts with family and friends. One of his favorite things to do was help anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his father Lonnie Burns and his older brother Roger Burns.
Survivors include his wife Debbe Koons of the home; daughters Amy Wiskus and his dear friend and son-in-law James Wiskus, Leah Burns of Durant, his step-son Matthew Koons and wife Linsey of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Lindsay Wiskus of Durant, Lacey Wiskus of Durant, Landon Wiskus of Durant, Olivia Burns of Durant, Sheridan Graves of Houston, Texas, Joshua Koons of Houston, Texas, Cassandra Koons of Houston, Texas, Sophie Koons of Houston, Texas; mother Betty Colclazier and husband Joe Colclazier of Durant; sister Carolyn Thompson of Durant; brother Robert Burns and wife Sherry of Sherman, Texas, and close lifetime friends Chris Stewart and Donnie Grace. Mourning the loss of his best friend is his ever-close companion, his dog Shilo. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Armstrong Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma.
