Obituary for Roy Dean Tolley

Roy Dean Tolley of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the age of 71. He was born on Saturday, December 22, 1951 in Denison, Texas to James Alex and Minnie Ethel (Hudson) Tolley.

He was a longtime resident of Bryan County. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines and was of the Baptist faith.

He worked with his family as a bricklayer. He enjoyed doing things with his hands and would craft many things made using either leather or wood. He also enjoyed cutting trees, gardening and country music.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Alex and Minnie Ethel (Hudson) Tolley; siblings Agatha Davis, Jimmy Lee Tolley, Mildred Duckworth, Elbert Tolley, Anna Tolley, James Dale Tolley, Linda Tolley; daughter Kimberly Tolley.

Survivors include his children Brandon Tolley and wife Dusty of Denison, Texas, Michael Nix and wife Lisa of Howe, Texas, Rusty Tolley of Louisiana, Christie Tolley of Louisiana, Juston Tolley of Louisiana, Jessica Tolley of Many, Louisiana; grandchildren Joanna Tolley of Denison, Texas, Cheyanna Tolley of Denison, Texas, Ashley Nix of Howe, Texas, Randle Nix of Howe, Texas, Jocob Tolley of Bonham, Texas, Drake Tolley of Tom Bean, Texas, Chance Tolley of Gonzales, Texas; Kajayla Hall of Many, Louisiana, Justina Cooper of Converse, Louisiana, Johnna Cooper of Converse, Louisiana; great grandchild Rylee Ratcliff of Howe, Texas; sister Becky Crawford of Kilgore, Texas; nephew Brian Crawford of Arkansas as well as other extended family.
