Obituary for Shella Cynthia Annette Novak

Shella Cynthia Annette Novak, 63, of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Durant hospital following an extended illness. She was born on Monday, September 12, 1960 in Boron, California to Charles Lee Bell Jr. and Stella Elizabeth (Landers) Bell.

For most of her younger life she was a resident of Boron, California, where her parents were school teachers. Later, she relocated to Kenefic and Durant Oklahoma where she lived with her children. She had opened a few paint and body shops in Dallas, Texas many years ago and received 3 degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. She lived in Salt Lake City, Utah for the last couple years. She had recently moved back to the Durant area so her daughter Autumn Pepperman could care for her while on hospice.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a free spirit and loved to live life. She loved to have a good time and loved everyone she came in contact with. Although she was not perfect, she always kept Jesus close to her heart and loved her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Lee Bell Jr. and Stella Elizabeth (Landers) Bell; brother James “Jimmy” Lee Bell; sisters Barbara Slavich and Linda Ranson.

Survivors include her daughter Autumn Pepperman and granddaughter Graycie Pepperman of Caney, Oklahoma; son Charles “Jimmy” Pepperman of Salt Lake City, Utah and grandson Caiden Pepperman of Durant, Oklahoma; sister Patricia Bell; brother Charles Robert Bell of Quinto, Ecuador as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.

Cremation services have been selected. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice in honor of Annette (Bell) Novac.
