Obituary for Shirley Ann Brown (Underwood)
Shirley Ann (Underwood) Brown, of Colbert, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the age of 78. She was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on Wednesday, November 17, 1943 to George Dewy Underwood and Othie Creola (Chambers).
She was a longtime resident of Colbert, Oklahoma where she moved from Denison, Texas in 2007. She was a teacher, banker, and executive assistant for 40 years, and delivered food to the local senior citizens. She attended The Lighthouse Church, and enjoyed shopping and loved antiques.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hayward Brown.
She is survived by her sons, Deon Jan Brown of California and Gilbert Smith Armistead of Downey, California; daughter, Tracy Dale Armistead of Nashville, Tennessee; step-son, Hayward Brown Jr.; and step-daughter, Vivian Okeowo of Atlanta, Georgia; sister Sandra Underwood as well as other extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday December 10, 2021 at The Light House Church in Colbert, Oklahoma with Pastor Joe Beshirs officiating.
