Shirley Ann Pruitt of Calera, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, January 1, 2024 at the age of 81.
She was born on Saturday, September 19, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma to Lloyd and Nettie Mae (Smith) Anderson.
She was a longtime resident of Calera, Oklahoma since 1967. She married Willie Dale Pruitt on May 29, 1959 in Durant, Oklahoma.
She was a devoted Christian and member of Calera First Baptist Church. She enjoyed going on walks, reading and playing with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Dale Pruitt; parents Lloyd and Nettie Mae (Smith) Anderson; sister Dorothy Toney and brother Mike Anderson.
Survivors include her daughter Gayle Ellis and husband Doyle of Silo, Oklahoma; son Michael Pruitt and wife Margaret of Savoy, Texas; grandchildren Justin Pruitt of Boswell, Oklahoma, Liz Kellam and husband Jason Thomas of Durant, Oklahoma, Jerad Kellam and wife Kerri of Silo, Oklahoma, Amber Spence and husband Caleb of Durant, Oklahoma, Becky Rucker and husband Corey of Edmond, Oklahoma; Evin Hughes of Altus, Oklahoma; 9 great grandchildren; sister Carolyn Key and husband Jimmy of Colbert, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Sherry Anderson of Durant, Oklahoma as well as many other extended family and friends.
A family visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Silo Baptist Church in Silo, Oklahoma with Bro. Michael Calhoun and Dr. Ray Earley officiating. A graveside service will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma. Justin Pruitt, Jerad Kellam, Shayne Phelps, Jason Thomas, Caleb Spence and Corey Rucker will serve as pallbearers.
