Obituary for Sunny Welborn
Sunny Welborn, of Mead, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the age of 76. She was born on Monday, September 20, 1943 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to B.L. and Nora Neal (Anderson) Gist.
Sunny came to Mead, Oklahoma from Sundown, Texas in 1985. She enjoyed gardening, music and the Dallas Cowboys as well as other sports. She was active in the Victory Life Church of which she was a charter member. She was involved as a volunteer in the tape ministry and other church functions. She attended and loved the weekly prayer card group. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She loved was very proud of her entire family.
She married Larry Welborn in Durant, Oklahoma for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents B.L. and Nora Gist.
Survivors include her husband Larry of the home; son Jeff Varner and wife Jonna of Heath, Texas; daughters Kass Varner and Jane of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jennifer Renckens and Shannon of Saugerties, New York; brother Bill Gist and wife Carol of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandsons Keegan Renckens of Saugerties, New York, Finn Renckens of Saugerties, New York; step-son Randall Welborn of Arkansas; granddaughters Bailey Varner of Heath, Texas, Mikinsie Varner of Heath, Texas, Kacie Varner of Heath, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Victory Life Church.
