Obituary for Utah Nation

Utah Nation, a lifelong Caddo resident, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 88 years of age.
Utah worked for Peabody Galion and Bryan County District 3, but the work he found his identity in was that of a cattleman, not to be confused with the term of a “cowboy”. He loved his family and his cattle, and at times the family wondered which came first. He attended the Caddo First Church of the Nazarene.

Utah was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; sister, Marketa McKay; parents, Lee and Mary Nation; and nephew, Dwight “Ike” Mckay.

Utah is survived by his children, Denise and Stephen. Denise and her husband David Badger of Noble, Oklahoma have three children: Joshua, Isaac, and Nathan. Joshua and his wife Lindsay of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma have two children, Abby and Ethan. Isaac and his wife Katie of Norman, Oklahoma have two children, Caden and Wyatt. Nathan and his wife Karlena of Newport News, Virginia have three children; Emilia, Lincoln, and Annabelle.

Stephen and his wife Gina (Martin) Nation of Spavinaw, Oklahoma have two children, Cara and Austin. Cara and her husband Daniel Hobbs of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma have three children; Grayson, Elam, and Noralee. Austin and his wife Amanda of Spavinaw, Oklahoma have two children, Aubri and Magnolia. Their third child, Utah Craig, is due to arrive in May.

Utah is also survived a number of nieces and nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers shall be Joshua Badger, Isaac Badger, Nathan Badger, Austin Nation, Daniel Hobbs, and Dusty McKay. Honorary Pallbearers are Dale Joines, Jerry McMichael, and Roy O’Hern.

Family Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Gordon Funeral Home.

Graveside service shall be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo with Rev. Stephen Nation, Rev. John Kinsey, and Rev. Clifford Joines officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Leisha Hinson for her incredible care of Utah and Wanda through the years. Her sacrifice of love and service to the family will never be forgotten.
