Obituary for William A. Armstrong

William Andrew Armstrong passed from his earthly life on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Willie, as he was known, was born in Merced, California on August 17, 1944 to James Henry Armstrong and Elma (McDonald) Armstrong. They moved to Oklahoma when Bill was very young. He graduated from Caddo High School. He went on to serve his country in the Navy and the Air Force.

He enjoyed watching old classic movies and Star Trek, listening to classical music and playing the lottery.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers James Armstrong, Jesse Armstrong, Stanley Armstrong; his sisters Winona Mueller, Melva Wigington and Elva Auten.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and was totally in love with the fact that he also had a great-great-great niece and nephew.

William, Willie, Bill, uncle Bill, U.B., Gunkle Bill, however you called him, had many friends across the country. He will be missed by many. He will be especially missed by his niece Joan Hajkowski and husband Mike, whom he had lived with the last 6-3/4 years, along with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A family visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:00PM, Friday, December 16, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma with the family officiating. Mike Hajkowski, Cody Harlin, Marty Auten, Eric Armstrong, Vernon Boughman and Larry Mueller will serve as pallbearers.
