Lois L. Ellison, life-long resident of Durant area, passed from this life on August 30, 2018 at the age of 101. She was born on August 25, 1917 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Luther and Lena (Lovall) Jordan.
She received her bachelor’s Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, went on to Oklahoma University and got her Master’s, and then went on to get her Doctorate in Decatur, Texas.
She married Lewis Ellison in Durant, Oklahoma on December 7, 1945.
She is survived by her brother; Joe Jordan of Durant, Oklahoma, nieces; Mary Kay Nabors, Waynette Tayor, Jan Wallace, and Sharon Andrew; nephews; Ronnie Jordan, Johnnie Jordan, Scott Jordan, Terry “Butch” Manley, and James Jordan, many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lewis Ellison., brothers; Luther Jr and Wayne Jordan; sister, Cathryn Marrow and two nephews, Mike Marrow and Luther C. Jordan III.
Graveside services will be held, 10;00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Highland Cemetery.
Gordon Funeral Home, 221 N. 3rd, Durant, OK will be handling the arrangements.
